Bajra Sandhi’s monument is one of many Bali tourism icons. The location is in the Niti Mandala area, Jalan Raya Puputan Denpasar across the governor office. It has a big parking area. The construction of Bajra Sandhi’s Monument is imitated the form of “Bajra”, which is the religious tools used by Pemangku/Sulinggih (the leader of Hindu Religious Ceremony). This monument was built in area of 13,8 hectare. The area of the building is about 70×70 meter. This monument was unveiled by the fifth president of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarno Putri in 14 June 2003.
Beside of Hinduism theme, the architecture of this monument is also symbolizes Indonesian Nationalism. This monument has 17 main gates, 8 pillars and the stands about 45 meters. It is presented the date of Indonesia’s Independence Day, 17 August 1945.
Inside the Bajra Sandhi’s monument, there are 32 dioramas ranging for prehistoric times until the war in Bali before the Independence Day. In contrast to the second floor of Bajra Sandhi Monument, IAM BALI is present in the ground floor with the modern theme.
